WARM THOUGHTS AND SPIRITS TO GET THROUGH COOL WINTER MONTHS

February and March can be dreaded long months of cold weather, so we wanted to share some of our favorite cocktail recipes. “Cocktails” is part of our company name, so we figured we should play with that connection a bit! The name Cocktail Sneakers was born from the desire to find a stylish, feminine sneaker that can be worn from sunrise to sunset. The collection of Cocktail Sneakers includes options that are professional enough for a business board meeting,  casual enough for gatherings with friends, and certainly stylish enough for cocktails at the end of your busy day… no matter what that has entailed! There’s no need to compromise style and comfort with Cocktail Sneakers!

Making and enjoying a mixed drink, whether it is alcoholic or non-alcoholic based on your preference, can be a pleasant way to unwind at the end of a day! There are an endless amount of drink combinations to experiment with. It has been fun during quarantine to be able to try new things at home, rather than just ordering a drink off a menu and not really knowing how the concoction is made. We matched up three of our sneakers with some of our favorite cocktails.

To begin, the Professional sneaker is matched up with the Aperol Spritz cocktail. The Aperol Spritz is often categorized as a feminine drink, which matches well with the feminine silhouettes and features of Cocktail Sneakers. The navy patent leather of the Professional stands out with its stunning shine, just like how the Aperol Spritz’s orange hue catches the eye. The sneaker and cocktail are both classy options for a woman to enjoy.

Whenever I drink an Aperol Spritz, I always think of summer. Still, the cocktail doesn’t have to solely be consumed during those few summer months. Rather, the Aperol Spritz is a lovely drink for the cooler months because of the warm thoughts that accompany it. Since it is an Italian classic, I often imagine myself strolling through an Italian town or basking in the sun on one of their picturesque beaches.

Mulled-wine-cocktail

The dark mulled wine cocktail is a match for The Outsider bootie in black. Both the drink and the show are fabulous feel-good options that always do the trick. The Outsider bootie elevates any outfit, from a casual jean look to a sophisticated maxi skirt. Similarly, mulling wine is an easy way to make a fun cocktail. An added plus is that the drink sounds fancy but doesn’t actually require a lot of preparation or time to make.

The trick to making a delicious mulled wine is to warm up the red wine very slowly so that the cocktail keeps a nice flavor. I usually use a Merlot, but you can also use a Zinfandel or Garnacha wine. A mulled wine recipe primarily uses a bottle of the wine, a little brandy, cinnamon sticks, maple syrup or honey, and any additional garnishes.

A fruity cocktail never goes out of style, just like our Weekender sneakers! These red shoes are bold and beautiful. They immediately brighten up any ensemble into a gorgeous and fashionable look for a woman. The Love Potion Cocktail is made from raspberry vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, and grenadine.

Mastering a tasty and fun cocktail is a helpful skill and fun to show off to friends and family. Although the recipe is simple, you can always personalize it with unique garnishes such as fruit, straws, or little umbrellas! Once you get the hang of it, you can change up the flavors and make your own cocktail!

If you come up with your own fabulous recipe, let us know! Trying out new recipes is an exciting activity that always produces some fun laughs and memories. Of course, consume at your leisure and make good decisions.
